A good day to be a dad...
Today I played my first semi-competitive sport with Isabel.
It was soccor. It started innocently enough with a game of keep away. I decided to "up the anti" by explaining the elements of kicking-off and of goals. Then I added, "first one to five wins."
Before I knew it, Isabel was jooking and jiving across the yard. She even pulled a harlem-globe-trotter-esc, "Dad, look at what Lily is doing" to try to distract my attention to allow her to score the final goal. I complied.
One happy little girl won 5-4 and couldn't wait to tell her mommy about it. One proud little dad took the loss in stride, and eagerly asked his oponent, "Best two out of three?"
