Tick-Tock... Tick-Tock...
What's that sound? No, not Jack telling us what a clock says. And it's not the voices in my head (see below). It's the sound of my own inevitable doom.
Sarah, Isa & Lucy have strep. Jack is supposedly too young to get strep but was just diagnosed with a nasty virus and double ear infection. Since I've been the caregiver, Doc said it was time for me to be tested. Seems I'm clean... for now.
So... what's that noise again? Either my succumbing to strep... or my succumbing to insanity from being the nursemaid for four sickies.
We are just getting to the point where we can laugh (or smirk) at the following story. Well, I'm there. Sarah still thinks it's creepy. Anyway...
A few week's back, Lucy told us that she doesn't like to listen to her tick-tock friends. Unfortunately, we were silly enough to ask the next logical question, "Who are the tick tock friends?"
She responds, "They are the voices in my head that tell me to do things."
Sarah & I look at each other... AWESOME!
Turns out we don't need to hide the knives and axes right away. Over the next few weeks, as we gathered the courage to ask more about it, we found out that Lucy and a friend just named that inner voice thingy. The tick tock friends mostly tell her how to play and what to eat. They haven't told her to hide in a snow-maze yet... but winter is coming.
