Well that's just super...
On the home front, the girls actually kept their excitement for about a quarter of the game.
Isa wanted the Steelers to win, cause Grandma & Grandad lived near there when they were kids... and because Uncle Billy used to like them. Isa said she thought Billy liked the blue horses. Lucky Billy wasn't there to have his childhood allegiance questioned in person by a 7-year-old.
Lucy wanted the Cardinals to win because they were red birds. Good enough for me.
She showed her typical "determination" when the analysts were picking the outcome of the game. She sat their quietly watching the first few make their pick, then asked the T.V., "Hey, why aren't any of you picking my team?". I'm sure she wasn't the only one asking that question.
She my have separated herself from the rest of the bandwagon the next morning. The first thing she asked was who won the game. As I told her how the Cardinal lost in the final seconds, she began to cry. Well, if her Cub's allegiance continues, at least I'll we'll have each other's shoulder come fall.
